About Whitney Weidow
A life without art would be like living in a world colored by only black and white. Art is what makes us human, what feeds our imagination, and gives us the chance to share ourselves with the world. I try to create not only a story told by mood and feeling, but trigger a memory or emotion in my viewers. A sense of nostalgia of what was, and what is. Consumed by light and composed with passion.
From rock climbing in the summer, snowboarding in the winter, and flying airplanes year round, I found that my true passion was in a studio next to an easel.
Raised in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Montana with an amazing art community, I found myself among them. I was fortunate enough to study under Gary Lynn Roberts, an accomplished Western Artist, for two eventful years. New to the world of arts, he took me under his wing, teaching me the ins and outs of the business. Introducing me to other accomplished artists in the Bitterroot such as Brent Cotton, Troy Collins, and Brooke Wetzel.
Since then I have become a Montana of Professional Artists member with two shows a year. Accepted into the Out West art show in Great Falls, Montana. Been a part of Bitterroot Frames Montana Miniature Show in Great Falls, Montana, as well as Summer Art Fest in Whitefish, Montana.
